Home Based Isolation and Care Guidelines for patients with COVID 19

Authors

Ministry of Health,Kenya

Abstract

As Kenya experiences an upsurge in the number of persons with COVID 19 infection, it is becoming less tenable to isolate all patients in hospital based care treatment facilities. Hospital care should be prioritised for those with the highest probability of poor outcomes. These include those with severe and critical illness and those with a risk factor ( age > 60 years and with underlying medical cormobidities).

Where possible home based isolation and care should be considered for asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic COVID-19 confirmed cases. The implementation of this guideline should be done under the supervision of a Medical practioners.
