The Ministry of Medical Services (MoMS) aims to improve the quality of service delivery and foster partnerships that will contribute towards the attainment of this goal. It is in this context that the Ministry partnered with the University of Nairobi and KEMRI‐Wellcome Trust under the SIRCLE collaboration to further develop the existing approaches to evaluating service delivery. This report follows a survey conducted in 22 level 4 and 5 hospitals in July 2012.It builds upon the Hospital Reforms and Clinical Audit surveys conducted by the Ministry. The aim was to conduct a detailed assessment of the quality of care by Kenyan hospitals providing internship training using the MoMS accepted standards and guidelines as criteria for assessment.
